Kid Update

So summer is almost gone and school has started and I am so sad. My kids are growing up so fast I can't believe it. I thought I would post a little of what they are up too. First of all Ethan. That child has tested my patience more than anything in my whole life. He cries non-stop and is super clingy. He wants me to hold him all day long and he is like a permanent attachment to my leg. With that he is also the cutest, funniest, clumsiest, and believe it or not fun child ever. I do love him to pieces which keeps him alive. He is really getting big and adventurous and loves to climb out of his high chair onto the table. He also pushes chairs over to the counters and gets up on the chair all ready. He loves to make a mess constantly and I have to walk around picking up the mess all day. But I do love that kid.

Next is my beautiful Paige. Dave has been so against me cutting Paiges hair for two years now. I have begged but he loves long hair and since I chopped all mine off he wanted Paige to keep hers. I finally talked him into it because her hair is so fine and scraggly. My sister Christy came to visit and I asked to cut it. Paige was a little nervous but I told her it would look like one of her friends hair so she let us. It turned out so cute and we all love it. It is so easy to take care of now. She looks so much older now and loves to show it off. She is so fun to be around and is turning into a little teenager already. She is desperatly missing her brother who is at school ALL DAY now. She cries in the morning when she wakes up and he is already gone. I like the time I have with her.

Last but not least is Logan. I can't believe it is even possible to have a 1st grader. I don't feel old enough to have that. I don't feel old enough to be one year away from 30 or just a few months away from 10 years of marriage but here it all is. Logan has been so excited for school and was just beside himself to start. He was so cute at the bus stop talking to all his friends. I was really sad actually because I am missing him so much. He is gone all day I feel like I won't ever see him. It is so quiet in our house when he is gone, and my huge helper is nowhere to be found. He is such a good boy and I know he will do great at school. When he was telling me all about school he said "Mom the lunchroom food is SOOO GOOD. And all the girls chase me at school. They remembered that from kindergarten." He had a cute little girlfriend last year and was so sad to find out she had to move. He asked me "Mom will I find a new girlfriend this year?" I said "why don't you worry about making friends that are boys." He said "No way" So I already have to worry about that in 1st grade.

My kids are so fun and make life worth living.

A Botched Birthday

Don't you hate it when you plan something really awesome and it goes to pot? So my mom was coming into town to visit, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to take somewhere over night to celebrate his birthday. It was a surprise. We tried to get some friends to go with us but schedules didn't work out so I had to settle for a day date. We started the morning going mountain biking (our new favorite pastime that might keep us in pocatello forever) It was awesome. Dave and I have a blast doing that together. Then I spent the night before making tin foil dinners and getting snacks and fishing licenses. After biking we went on our way to an awesome day of fishing and smore roasting and visiting with our good friends. We met them in Burley and they took us to this gorgeous camping spot a nice little lake. It was really busy so we decided to walk to the other side of the lake. We were there maybe fifteen minutes and all of the sudden we could see rain move across the lake. We didn't want to go back to the car yet in case it stopped so we took cover under some trees. The rain started to get worse and worse until it turned into hail with no sign of stopping. I couldn't believe how hard it was hailing. It started to let up a little so we decided to take a chance and run back to the car. Big mistake. It was hailing so hard it was pelting our heads, feet, and arms, it hurt. We finally made it to the car and ending our fifteen minute trip to the lake. On the way back down our car started to overheat so Dave was flooring it to make it down the hill and then our car started to smoke so we had to pull over and but coolant in it. We found out the smoke was from Dave riding the brakes to hard. It was quite memorable. We ended up cooking our tin foil dinners at our friends parents house in Burley on the grill. It still turned out to be a great day.
